Reset Nokia Symbian Phone

You can soft reset or hard reset the phone or flash. Make sure your phone battery is fully charged.

1. Soft Reset
A Soft-reset is the process of resetting all the settings of the phone to the factory default! No applications are deleted.

• Take back up of contacts, calendar and other phone memory files
• Enter the code*#7780#It will ask for “Restore all phone settings” say yes and Phone will restart
• It asks for security code. Default value of security code is 12345. Enter it and then the phone is reset after restart

2. Hard Reset
A Hard-reset is the process of resetting all the settings of the phone and also delete everything from phone memory. It formats the phone memory. Everything that has been installed other than default apps at the time of purchase are deleted.

• Take back up of contacts, calendar and other phone memory files
• Enter the code*#7370#It will ask for “Restore all phone settings” say yes and Phone will restart
• It asks for security code. Default value of security code is 12345. Enter it and then the phone is reset after restart

3. Flash
If any of the above methods failed to make your phone formatted then try following step.

Mainly do this step if your phone doesn’t boot or not loading OS. If you make any mistake in flash your phone may be unusable

• Switch-off your phone
• Press and hold these three keys together-Green dial key,-Star key (*)-Three key (3)then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.Do not let go the three keys until you see the “formatting” screen displayed
• After a few minutes, the format will be complete

For some specific model this method is changed. Press simultaneously these buttons:

• Nokia 5800

1. Green button
2. Red button
3. Camera button
4. On/off button

• N 97

• Power button
• Space key
• Delete key (left arrow logo)
• Caps /shift button (up arrow logo)

• N8

Main Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone mgmt. > Factory Settings > Delete Data and Restore

1. switch off then Volume Down key
2. Camera Key
3. Menu Key
4. Press power button until the phone vibrates.
